  1. More pics! I'll be having a set up front replacing my Ground Zero components and replacing the standard rear speakers with a set too! Finally a new home for the Sundown amp... Still to do: deadening, fit speakers, refit boot trim and get some proper scores! For now the car is back with Rich (the installer) he he he ;)
  2. A sneaky update for you Russian guys Not even posted this on any of the English speaking forums yet ;)
  3. Very nice car, never seen one over here so you must be one lucky guy!
  4. Interesting kit list, always love a set of DLS speakers up front
  5. Ah OK. We have different ways of securing the batteries, the foam is good because it doesn't need much effort, is quick and the foam is strong when it sets. Yes the SAX amp is very small! If we put it in the foam it would be hard to access because it has the subwoofer box on top of it which weighs 100kg+. Haha, even if people can't understand English the pictures do all the talking
  6. In what sense? The 2 batteries are in a plywood box, then have expanding foam all around them. They are very secure. They also have the subwoofer enclosure mounted on top.
  7. Thank you, plenty more to come! :drinks: Thanks, I also love what you guys have been doing, I follow your threads on CACO quite closely! As for the amp, it's lasted me a long time and will be a cheap fix anyway, after the new year I will be having it repaired and selling it. When finishing the enclosure it was hard to find space for the amp anywhere else, as you can see previously with my BTLs I had the subs and port firing up, so had space either side of the box for amp mounting, with the new box I'm much more limited.
  8. I think one of the reasons my Crystal amp broke was because it was mounted on the subwoofer enclosure, so I am having it relocated Hmm which way Removing the seats so the installer can have them to work on Nice wiring The seat is still in progress, I will post completed pics of this soon. With all this bass I had a lot of ratles and vibrations. I had very little sound deadening on the car. I ordered some Silent Coat Extra deadening - 25sqft, 4mm thick I will be applying the deadening soon - expect some pics The boot lid still made lots of rattles, so I took off the trim. My installer is making this very strong, fibre glassing it, smoothing it off and painting it.
  9. Google translate helps me understand  Maybe one day I will be able to speak Russian, I certainly want to visit Russia sometime soon...
  10. It is an honour to be on here. I hope you are all liking my install. I do feel a bit embarassed that I can't engage with you all properly as I can't speak Russian but do thank you all for being patient and accepting me using English. More pictures are coming up my friend Once I had my car back with install the subs were wired to a high load, so they got very little power but they were still very impressive. Here are some low powered scores when the subs were stiff. I then had the subs rewired and WOW it was amazing. My problem now was that when the volume was turned up the CD player skipped. The only score I could get is 20hz I got this up to 147.4 with a small tweak. More problems... I was burping and the Crystal amp let out some smoke, ooops! Power FET blown! ::focus:: New equipment time Upgrading from 2x125wmrs@4ohm to 4x125@4ohm :nyam2:
  11. The subwoofer enclosure. This was made out double layered 18mm plywood, the subs face up and port fires back. The port itself is variable, so we can make new ports and change them when we want. Test fit Making the ports - we have 2 ports at the moment - 27hz and 35hz 27hz port 35hz port Box painted Test fit with 27hz port Now with subs...
  12. Fitting suspension and brakes When doing suspension the installer found the front passenger drop link was very worn Old suspension and brakes
  13. First thing - power supply! On these VAG engines there is an alternator you can fit from a Renault van, it is rated at 210a but in clamp tests people get 260-300a with them using external regulators. First 210a alternator replacing standard alternator With this I had 1 run of Knukonceptz 0g OFC positive going to the back and using chassis grounds. I used this set up for my previous installs. When planning the SP4 install I knew I needed to make it stronger ;) 3 XS Power D3400 batteries (1 for standard replacement, 2 to put in the back) 2 more runs of Knukonceptz 0g OFC, one positive, one for negative from front to back Lots of fuses! Then I wanted to put a second alternator on, so I took it 200 miles to a company in London, they removed my air con pump and fitted a second 210a alternator. MY air con system was already faulty, the radiator had broken so wasn't working. Removing air con pump Getting the bracket ready Test fitting Finally fitted using a Goodyear Gator Back belt Both alternators are connected to a single external regulator. Unfortunately I had some minor problems, a few weeks ago the alternator managed to break off from the bracket so I had to go down again and have it fixed. On the way there the second alternator broke off on the motorway while driving at 70mph! The company replaced this FREE OF CHARGE! New bracket test fitted Everything reconnected So far I have not had any more problems with this. 2 XS Power D3400 batteries in the boot 3 runs of 0g from front to back - 2 + 1 -
  14. The car itself Headunit - Alpine 9887R with full speed iPod connection Front speakers are Ground Zero GZUZ165SQ Amping these is a Crystal CAM200.2 Rear speakers are standard. 15. Hi everybody. I apologise for my lack of language skills, Russian isn't something I'm fluent in but I love some of the cars you have on here so decided to sign up! Here is my little install. I have a 2004 Audi A4 Avant 1.9TDI Sport (6 speed manual, pd130 avf engine) I have had many installs in this car, starting off with 2 Fi BTL 15" subs with an Atomic 5kwrms amp Videos of this set up are here Then I went to 1 15" BTL on a few different amps, started off with Sundown SAZ1500D, then Rockford Fosgate T20001BD and then a Ground Zero 1.2500DXii Videos here ..then now I have 2 Fi SP4 15" subwoofers, ran off a SPL Dynamics D6 amplifier. A few early videos here These videos are when the subs were getting very little power. I will go through all the stages of my build, including all the equipment I use, the fitting of the dual alts and the actual subwoofer box itself.
  16. Brilliant install, can't wait to see the SP4 installed and working!
